After a slow tournament start for the Cape Elizabeth 9/10 softball all-star team with a 16-6 loss at the hands of Scarborough 6 days ago, the Capers  rebounded to defeat Windham-Raymond, 10-0, today in a mercy-rule shortened 4-inning game at the Blue Point fields in Scarborough. The outstanding pitcher-catcher battery of Anna and Kathryne accounted for all of the Windham outs. Anna recorded 9 strikeouts and gave up no hits, and the pair combined to catch three Windham runners attempting to take home on passed balls.

Meanwhile, the offense jumped out to two quick runs in the 1st with Abbey and Helena crossing the plate, and later erupted for five in the 3rd as Cape sent 11 batters to the plate and Abbey, Hannah, Anna, Analise, and Clara came scampering home. Anna delivered the big blow with a triple to left field that drove in two of the runs and Abigail laid down a beautiful bunt that brought Anna across the plate. Katherine, Haley, Katherine, and Dana all made big contributions throughout the game as well. In the bottom of the 4th, with Cape up 8-0, Clara knocked a ball down to SS that plated Abigail, and Analise came racing home on the errant throw to first. The dugout emptied to celebrate the walk off victory!

The Capers live to fight on another day in the double elimination District 6 tournament!!!!
